"The more I see of men the more I like dogs." ~ Madame de Stael quotes (French woman of letters, political propagandist, 1766-1817)
If I were a mother, I'd be dead already from worry. My female husky, Sheba (aka Miss Sheba Woo)was sick last week and now my other dog, Ruskie, is sick. It's a much more serious problem when he's not well because he already has other ongoing illnesses, like diabetes. I was up much of the night with him. He had diarrhea yesterday and last night he kept wanting to go outside to go to the bathroom. He wouldn't eat this morning, though he is drinking water. He still believes he has to go, but he no longer has anything in his stomach. Of course, I'm just worried to distraction. I made some hamburger with rice for him at lunch, but he wasn't interested in it. His doctor is supposed to have some medicine ready for him a little later this afternoon, but since he doesn't actually have diarrhea anymore, I'm not sure whether he should have it.
I decided to call his doctor and discuss it with her, so I'm on hold now. After holding for 10 minutes, I decided to have her call me back. I just hate doing this because the level of my anxiety seems out of proportion to the problem. I know dogs have stomachs that periodically go nuts for no apparent reason and then get better for no reason. Even still, I'm very concerned about him.
Well, nothing is easy when it comes to the vet. Why is that? No matter, I suppose.... We finally talked and now I have to go pick up some meds for the doggy. Later.
