Losing My Patience
03.10.08 (2:15 pm) [edit]
Two years after my diagnosis, I finally had the energy to clean the bathroom...and I finished this weekend. Two years of absolute nastiness has completely vanished, after three weeks of intensive (but periodic, as energy allowed) work. I made my mom come look at it, I go in frequently and look at it. Of course, I made Hubby look at it and wanted to know what I used. Hard work, that's what I used. Hubby is now officially responsible for maintaining it. He hasn't a clue as to the amount of work involved. I will monitor his work. I will take him to task if he does an inadequate job.Next, I'm starting the living room. I don't think I'll be able to begin until next weekend. During the week, I have to devote too much time to taking care of my physical body. I also like to be able to devote a little time to reading every day and, of course, there's always beloved huskie maintenance. I may be able to dust a little bit during the week, though. As soon as I finish the living room (and it will be a long, long haul), that will also be Hubby's responsibility to maintain.
I spent my morning searching the Internet for jobs for Hubby. Is that not pathetic or what? I immediately found about 10 that are better than his proposed (part-time) job at Starbuck's. I don't have much faith that Starbuck's would be a long-term job for Hubby. It's too fast-paced and will require him to spend a lot of time on his feet. That's okay. I've already started lining up other possibilities. Tomorrow I will look again.
This is a sad, sad state of affairs and I'm losing my patience with him. Of course, I've been losing my patience for a very long time.

i have never asked my pups to clean the bathroom for they never really use it. i have, however, asked that they at least dust occasionally! the excuse that they give me is "we have no tails"...what's up with that. i would suggest that you tie a duster on each huskies tail and tell them to get busy. i also march to the drum of flylady dot com...they have a philosophy of "you can do ything for 15 minutes! xoxoxoxo

Ya know, i never realized what a good company Starbucks was to work for until I saw a bit on 'Oprah' a few months back. But they have fantastic benefits if the hubby did make a go of it. Is he got experience in a particular field?

Well, you're working full time, & if your husband is either unemployed or working only part time, with no small children to take care of, then wouldn't the responsibility of household cleaning & maintenance mainly rest on his shoulders?
It feels good to fix a problem, doesn't it? I've just spent some time, over several days, pulling grass out of one of my neglected garden beds - & planting seeds to replace it (because nature hates a vacuum - bare dirt - & will fill it with weeds if we don't plant plants!).

I've been meaning to clean my place for a long time. Sometimes I think about hiring someone to do it!
