Long Week

Long Week

I managed to move all of the database records yesterday.  Just as I predicted, no one told K. She figured it out when she had some new invoices to prepare (in the incorrect file). All of the old ones were marked "void moved to misc. invoices" in huge red letters on top of the original invoices.  K. just asked me to come to her office to help her with the database.  She wanted to know why she started putting them in the wrong file to begin with.  As if I would know.  I spent about 20 minutes with her.  She was scrolling through records, asking me what's going on in the database.  The thing that's going wrong with the database is not caused by me or by the software.  That's right, boys and girls, it's going wrong because of K.  Have I mentioned lately how crazy this place makes me?

Just back from therapy, I recognize that the therapist is right; this is just like my family.  Well, without the violence and weird sexual stuff, of course.  The unpredictability, the fixing things that no one will acknowledge are wrong, the barely submerged rage are all very familiar.  Therapist suggested that this is constantly triggering my post traumatic stress disorder.  Right again.

It's been a long week.

I think that's something many people should "chew on"; work being an actual "trigger".

Sorry that you had such a rough week. :(
