Just One More Thing

Just One More Thing

The other issue is that I have absolutely no confidence that anyone is going to tell K. that she's been putting things in the wrong places.  Most of us would rather complain to each other than have to actually tell someone they're doing something wrong. Sigh.  It's especially bad with K., because she tends to burst into tears at the slightest correction.  I know because it's happened to me.  I tried to warn her that the owner of the company was taking careful--and not friendly--note of her job performance.  She cried for 30 minutes.  But that's not my job.  I don't supervise her.  If I did, we'd have already had a couple of come to Jesus meetings.  People here would prefer that I behave like a supervisor, but if I'm not getting the cash, I'm not supervising.  If I can't fire someone, I'm not supervising.

Suddenly, the prospect of spending five days in a hospital bed doesn't look quite so bad.  That's a fine how do you do.

I just read your profile. I think it is funny- rather blunt and straightforward.

Anyhow, you make a lot of sense- if you are not given the authority, then why supervise?

I'm a pretty direct person. You could also call it blunt and straightforward, I suppose.

Yes, I'm not supervising anyone. Just so you know, no one felt impelled to tell K. about her errors. That is *so* predictable. sigh. Thanks for commenting!

I hope it works out for you. My supervisor is the same way. he wont confronnt anyone.. just bitches to everyone else in teh hopes that we supervise ourselves.. which we all have decided not to do....
