Anti-Social

Anti-Social

I decided to take a bit of a break today.  I finished one of the pieces of the enormous work project.  I didn't really realize how enormous it was until yesterday when I started looking through the next database.  I hope to have it all finished by the time I have surgery, which is one of the reasons I've been working like a woman possessed.  Ah, the good old days!  I used to be this driven all the time.  I can be this way when I enjoy my work.

Halloween came and went uneventfully at my house.  My husband had the idea of putting a bowl of candy on the front porch and letting the little munchkins get their own candy.  We were both a little nervous about how the dogs would react to hearing "trick or treat" in high pitched voices throughout the evening.

My co-workers had a Halloween party and we were all supposed to wear a costume.  I went as a cancer survivor.  No one wanted to see my costume.  What's up with that?  I don't do costumes.  After I reached adulthood, I gave it up permanently.  I don't mind that others do it; I'm just not going to.  I wear a mask every day.  Sometimes I wear several different masks in one day.  Of what use would a Halloween mask be when the other masks are so subtle and effective?

I chose not to participate in the food portion of the Halloween party.  They'll be having a birthday party for me on Friday and, as far as I'm concerned, there definitely is such a thing as too much togetherness.  I would tell them not to celebrate, but everyone so looks forward to cake.  And to whatever restaurant take-out we get for lunch.  I'm feeling anti-social these days and not just a little obsessed with my project.

There's a huge cat story I need to share, but that will have to wait until I can think of how to make it more entertaining.  It's one of those situations that could only occur here.

Well, enough of this.  Back to work.

I think I understand about the food thing. I thought last
night, I'd have to go to some deserted island to get away
from too much food! I almost feel guilty sometimes that I seem
to have so much when others have so little. I hope you can
enjoy at least a small piece of cake for your birthday though.

I like to eat but, I'd rather cook.

Too much togetherness...yep, I get that too!

All the best to you :)
